I currently use a mixture of the following on a weekly basis (I'll be going to a bi-weekly basis due to the economy..gotta stretch my products *haha*)
ReplyDelete50g Amla + 25g Brahmi + 25g Neem + 25 Maka + EVOO + honey
I mix the powders with some warm water and then add the EVOO and the honey.
I use my powder mix in order to strengthen my hair, give it a dark luster and also to help with growth retention.
This is nice. I'd love to try this.
ReplyDeleteI use Vatika Oil as a pre-poo over-night before every wash.
Use Amla and Shikakai powder as a rinse and once in a while amla paste mixed on my face.
My henna is done every month, switching up the mixtures since I'm no longer using it for color and I don't leave it in for any longer then 3 hours. (condition and strength)
I've been dying to try an Ayurvedic approach to healthy hair, but haven't been able to try it so far.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fantastic opportunity for newbies like me to learn about strengthening and caring for our hair this way! Thank you so much for that!
Right now i pre poo with amla oil and i have used vatika oil in the past and i plan on trying henna in the very near future!
ReplyDeleteim a follower of ekua's blog as well!
ReplyDeleteI use amla in my hair weekly when it is in two stranded twists or loose. I have used henna in the past but have not really kept up with it. Currently I use coconut oil for my scalp.
ReplyDeleteI've tried maka and amla, but like amla best. I also use vatika oil for scalp massages. My hair is in much better condition since using these.
ReplyDeleteCurrently I am transitioning (5 months!) and have been browsing the hair forums/blogs for ideas on the Ayurvedic herbs/powders. I plan to purchase some Alma and Brahmi powders with the discount. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI plan in using Amla for it's anti-hair loss properties. And also as a prepoo and mixed with henna to darken it.
ReplyDeleteI also want to buy some anti bacterial ayurvedic herbs like Neem for my dandruff and itchy scalp.
I want to buy more Henna for color and it's anti bacterial properties.
I have been dying to try more ayurvedic herbs.
I currently use Henna. Which I do once a month to strengthen and thicken my poor little strands.I have recently purchased Amla and Brahmi which also aid in thickening the hair I want a huge Badu fro! I've also started using Vatika Oil which is divine! Leaves my hair so soft =]
ReplyDeleteI use henna to cover the grays and it creates pretty reddish highlights to my hair. I would like to try adding it with indigo next. Also interested in cassia which seems to give hair an incredible shine and adds strength.

ReplyDeleteI bought Maka powder from her, because I'm prone to alopecia bald spots. Then I pm'd her to ask about using it, well this beautful lady answered and she also sent me some information about making an oil with my powder. I made the oil and started using it on my one bald spot. I see some hair growing in already. I also use alma, neem,Shikakai and aritha powders. I love Henna use it one a month.
ReplyDeleteMy post (that was deleted was too long lol)
ReplyDeleteI've been using henna for over a year and my hair is really thickening up and is strong.
Weekly, I cleans with shikakai, amla and brahmi (or afroveda herbal cleanse) and I use a paste of amla +bhringraj+brahmi on my hair. My hair thanks me everytime.
